The tubing was fabricated from 13/4" used header pipe from a early Triumph twin. This was already reduced in weight by being rusted thin! The length is 37inch from valve centre. A simple spoke with a tension spring clamps the 2 headers together at the head. The rear brackets have since been modded with a simple rubber grommet to allow for expansion. Also the bolt that pins the strap to the frame is loctited loose to allow some movement. The sound has been described as having a "mean bark". Shortly we'll be adapting one header with an O2 sensor so air/fuel ratios can be datalogged. Electronic fuel injection (EFI) is planned to follow.
